I want to thank everyone with all my heart for supporting me and crossing fingers for me at my Olympic mission. It was an unbelievable day which started with pouring rain and wrapped up with the bright shine of my Silver medal - but especially as the race day brought some uncommon feelings for me.
Normally I feel super good in the qualifications but this special day of all days I didn't felt as secure as otherwise customary.
But I quickly get back in my racing mode. I cannot recall any race where I was able to beat top guns like Mathieu Bozzetto by more than one second in one run. It was amazing to that I was able to stay stable on the board as you couldn't see any bumps - you just noticed them when you hit them.
Right after the competition, everything went just bang, bang, bang. People were pulling you left, right - just everywhere until us three medallists were left in the finish sack, waiting for our big moment - to step on the podium.
The alpine snowboarders have only one day every four years, so I'm very proud of myself that I accomplished my lifetime goal of an Olympic medal at my first try. And for sure, I didn't do it all alone. Thus I have to thank my mom who did support me 1000% all the years. She always was my main backing. I owe her a lot!
In addition, I would like to use this opportunity to also thank my sponsors, partners and my country as well as all of my friends and my family. You all sustained me on my way to success.
But enough of acknowledgements! Let's move on to new challenges!
