Last year, Carezza celebrated its debut as a World Cup host bringing back the international contest series to South Tyrol after five years, this year, the global circuit returns to the Karerpass.
The season's Parallel World Cup opener will take place in South Tyrol's most sunniest winter sport resort when a parallel giant slalom will take place on December 21.
“This year we have way better weather and snow conditions. The race slope is already well-prepared, since ten days. We will do some more minor changes over the next couple of days. But we already got very good feedback on the slope conditions from the athletes who have been training on it over the past couple of days,” said head of slopes Georg Eisath during a press conference held in the Hotel Laurin in Bozen.
“The conditions and the snow are perfect,” underlined last year's men's winner Roland Fischnaller (ITA).
“Although it's the first World Cup race and thus true test with the international elite, I will give everything to finish on top again,” added Fischnaller who missed the Crystal Globe last year as runner-up by the little mere of 20 points.
