Austrian boarder crosser charge batteries

Being held as part of a stamina trainings camp at AQUA DOME Laengenfeld, head coachTom Greil decided to send his fosterlings Markus Schairer, Hanno Douschan, Alessandro and Michael Haemmerle as well as Susi Moll on a special SBX triathlon.

The course consisted of mountain biking, mountain running and swimming.

Michael Haemmerle came out fastest mastering the eight kilometers of mountain biking, the run across country and with a vertical gain of 200 meters as well as the final 600 meters of swimming in the 19 °C warm Lake Piburg in the time of 54:50 minutes and thus got awarded with a tandem paraglide ride.

Hanno Douschan followed in second position after he had lost a comfortable lead in the water.

Former World Champion Markus Schairer proved his fighting spirit after he had suffered from several technical defects on his bike.

The trainings camp was rounded out by a mountain bike free ride tour under guidance of former OESV snowboarder Lukas Gruener who is now in charge as MTB ambassador for the Ötztal Alps, a quick visit in the climbing hall of Imst as well as a boulder session.

“Our season kicks off with a highlight in our home country. Therefore we have to be in shape. According to this, everyone was as keen as mustard,” said Greil.

Besides the night event on December 7, the World Cup host debut of Schruns, Montafon, will also feature the first ever SBX team event in Europe.
