Blessed with superb and sunny weather conditions, about 40 women and 80 men dropped in the superpipe at Cardrona Alpine Ski Resort to get their first runs in and check out the shape of the pipe.
What came out was a decent training session for most of the riders. Except a few of them the majority has been snowboarding for only a few days so far coming out of a long summer break.
The last days, nearly everyone get his or hers tricks back in store riding the pipe in Snowpark, right on the other side of the valley.
According to Janne Korpi (FIN), who had won last year's opener in New Zealand, this schedule had its good and bad sides of the story.
“It was good to have a break but it's also good to be back on snow. The pipe here is good but it's weird. We have been training in Snowpark, so the shape differs. You have to adjust to a new pipe. But you get there after after a few runs.”
The only issue for the next days might be the weather.
According to the latest forecasts, the weather seems to be pretty bad - with slight chances for changing the time schedule.
