Dominique Maltais and Markus Schairer top qualifiers in Telluride

Canada's very own Dominique Maltais seems to be able to keep the momentum. The winner of the season's SBX World Cup opener killed it today dominating the international field on the course in Telluride.

The 2006 Olympic Bronze medalist nailed the best time of 1:11.88 thus relegating Eva Samkova (CZE, 1:12.97) and Maria Ramberger (AUT, 1:14.01) to the econd and third spot respectively.

Also leading one of the heats of four in the women's finals scheduled for 1 PM local time tomorrow is Maelle Ricker (CAN, 1:14.46) who came in fourth today.

On the men's side, it was Austrian top gun Markus Schairer who was almost one second faster (1:06.85) than Stian Sivertzen of Norway (1:07.76).

Nate Holland took the third qualifier spot in 1:07.77 while Emanuel Perathoner also underlined his upturn in form as fourth (1:08.32).

Finals will take place Friday, 1 PM local time.
