German freestyle snowboarder go to school together

End of September, German freestyle snowboarders Luis Eckert (16 years) and André Hoeflich (15) moved in the Berchtesgaden based boarding school CJD.

The two students will join 17 years-old Johannes Hoepfl, who is also part of the sports promotion section and thus train with him and coaches David Selbach and Friedl May on a daily base.

Besides English, maths or German also acrobatics, trampolining as well as weight and endurance training are now part of the snowboard talent's everyday routine.

According tho this, national coach Selbach is happy about the spatial proximity and thus won synergy effects.

“It's easier and even more effective to train within a group. And that's the base for the improvement in performance we are aiming for. In the past, we lost a lot of time and energy due to long car drives which we can now invest in the gym.”

At the moment, the whole team is in Saas-Fee, Switzerland, for another on-snow trainings camp hitting the halfpipe and the fun park on the Allalin glacier to prepare for the next events of this season.
