Lindsey Jacobellis races into #1 bib
Frustrating day for the Olympic Champion Tanja Frieden

US-lady Lindsey Jacobellis has won the ladies qualification for tomorrow's third LG Snowboard FIS World Cup snowboard cross. The Olympic Silver medallist nailed a 57.30 seconds run relegating World Cup leader Maelle Ricker (CAN, 58.10), World Champion Helene Olafsen (58.40) and Zoe Gillings (GBR, 58.92) to the second through fourth spot respectively.

Due to this, Jacobellis who get along super good with some heavy snow fall will face her team mates Faye Gulini and Callan Chythlook-Sifsof as well as Dominique Maltais from Canada in quarter final one.

While all heats promise some nice head-to-head duels on the slope also on the ladies' side some top riders had to accept defeat thus missing the action tomorrow. Like in the men's time trials also on the ladies side the Olympic Champion experienced a frustrating day. Tanja Frieden finished as 23rd (1:00.75) being 3.45 seconds slower than Jacobellis. In addition, her countrywomen Emily Aubry and Olivia Nobs were out as 25th and 26th. France's Deborah Anthonioz was the unlucky 17th place finisher missing the finals by 14 hundredths.
