Speed disciplines take over Stoneham

While freestyle snowboarding was central on the first weekend of the world championships, it's now time for the speed disciplines to take over centre stage.

Although the first medal event will go down on Friday with the parallel giant slalom finals at 1 PM EST, it's the snowboard crossers who will heat up things first.

Qualifiers are scheduled for Thursday 10:30 AM EST (men) and 1:30 PM (women). The finals will take place on Saturday 11 AM.

On Sunday, the race boarders will wrap up things with the last event of the 10th FIS Snowboard World Championships in Stoneham – the parallel slalom
