Week full of honour for Nicolien Sauerbreij

It was a very exciting week for Nicolien Sauerbreij; kind of the icing on the cake after having had the season of her life.

At the PGS in Telluride, Nicolien accomplished something, not many riders will ever achieve. The friendly Dutch race boarder competed in her career’s 200th World Cup. But that’s not all, what happened this week.

During the sport gala of the Netherlands Olympic Committee Nicolien Sauerbreij was crowned as sport woman of 2010.

And that for some good reasons: Last season Sauerbreij was unbeatable. She won the parallel World Cup and on top of it Olympic Gold at the Olympics, Holland’s first on snow medal.

This medal has had a big impact in the Netherlands. When Nicolien came back from Vancouver about 50.000 people were waiting for her in the city of Haarlem to celebrate this medal.

So, congratulations for an outstanding year!
