Zavarzina and Fischnaller best qualifiers in Rogla

Heat is on in Rogla.

At the first FIS Snowboard World Cup ever to be staged in the ski resort south of Maribor, a Russian girl and and Italian man nailed it on the Jasa slope.

2011 Parallel Giant Slalom World Champion Alena Zavarzina underlined her strength in the faster parallel discipline by posting a qualifier time of 1:13.84 minutes at the season's second PGS.

On the men's side of things, Roland Fischnaller supplied evidence to what he had said after his Parallel Slalom Bronze medal earned at the 2013 World Championships in Canada two weeks ago.

“I hope I can have some revenge in Slovenia.”

In Stoneham, Rogla local hero Rok Marguc had dominated the course set by Fischnaller's coach Erich Pramsohler.

Today, it seems it could be the hoped for payback time as “Fisch” will enter the finals scheduled for 12:30 PM (CET) as #1 qualifier due to a time of 1:07.78
