For the first time ever, a Snowboard World Cup will be held in Belgium. On November 10th, the season's second big air contest is scheduled in Antwerp.
Finally and after bearing this idea many years in mind, the 2013 European Capital of Sports finally got all things together and is ready this historic first.
VENUE SITE
The event location is called "De Waagnatie" and is located near to the "Schelde", only some 10 minutes of walk from downtown.
The whole site features an industrial look and thus brings in some urban flavor.
However, so far, the ramp design hasn't been finalized yet but according to the national federation, which included local homeboy and international top gun Seppe Smits in the development, there are some wild ideas from a 40m height, to gap jump, construction with containers etc.
It will be interesting to see how the whole set up will turn out.
