VENUE DESCRIPTION

Veysonnaz is a picturesque sunny mountain resort located at 1350 metres in the Valaisan Alps with an amazing view over the Rhone Valley and its capital city Sion.

 

It is part of the "4 Valleys" ski domain with its 400km of slopes, 100 installations and its famous "Piste de l'Ours". Snow is guaranteed thanks to the numerous snow canons. And in addition, the perfect connection of the holiday village to Sion airport (20 minutes car ride) and to Geneva airport (2 hours car rode) makes it even more attractive.

 

However, World Cup riders are especially attracted by a nice snowboard cross course which has been built for the world wide tour for the first time in the 2010 winter season. Starting on 2.682 metres of altitude and finishing in 2.063 metres the track offers a breathtaking vertical drop of more than 600 while about 20 features have to be tackled all the way down.

 

Due to this, it's no wonder, that the World Cup circuit comes back in 2012.
