Isabel about Isabel: I had my first contact with snow in 1994 because my brother was living in the USA and he was spending the winter seasons in Mammoth Mountain. We really liked the snow, and after 3 days of skiing I decided to try snowboarding because it looks more fun. After 3 days I was completely crazy about it. In 1995 the Brazilian association of ski and snowboard organized the first snowboard Brazilian champs in Valle Nevado Chile. My brother and I went there, and since them, I started doing double winter seasons, in Chile and the North Hemisphere, working as a snowboard instructor for more them 7 seasons training and competing at the same time. After 2003, when SBX became Olympic, I stopped teaching and dedicated all my time for training and competing, that has really helped me to improve my level. My best result until now in WCups was a 7th place in Sunday River and also in Chapelco. In Torino Olympics, I achieved the 9th place, which was historical for Brazil. My goal now is to always challenge myself and improve my level and get to Sochi Olympics in my best conditions I ever had. |
