An old big air cat - Marko Grilc Being introduced to snowboarding at the age of seven by his brother, Marko Grilc quickly picked up the skills needed to come a long way. He soon began to compete becoming a top-10 big air World Cup rider between 2000 and 2005. After signing a major deal with Burton which enabled him to not only design his own board but to be also part of the developing process for clothing, the outgoing rider focused on filming thus making him a familiar face in the freestyle world. However, in 2008, the 1983 born got infected with the competition virus again benefitting from his perfect style. In early 2009, he secured back-to-back podium finishes in Quebec (2nd) and Moscow (3rd) wrapping off his first World Cup season after a break of three years as runner-up in the big air standings. And also the 2010 season was a good one for the Slovenian stemming from Ljubljana. Marko, blessed with some outstanding technical skills, became a national hero by winning the Air & Style by nailing a switch backside double corked 1080. Those double cork manoeuvres show the risk the GummiLove ambassador is willing to take in the battle for the podium.
