Marion Kreiner – fast but not furios “Think twice about your dreams and wishes as they might come true!” It’s a good quote and definitely fits to Marion Kreiner as her philosophy posted on her team’s website totally goes with her World Cup career. It all began back in the days when a little girl fell in love with a new sport trying it for the first time in a ski and snowboard school. Thereafter, Marion started to compete in some races organized for kids, was pretty successful and decided over the course of the years to stick with the sport and aim for a professional career. Aged 20, she celebrated her World Cup debut in a snowboard cross race at Kreischberg but kept concentrating more and more on the parallel disciplines. It was the right decision as the 1981 born earned her first podium finish in 2004 in Bardonecchia, Italy, as second. In a total of 99 World Cup starts until the 2011 World Championships, the national team member collected ten podium rankings, including one victory in Soelden, Austria, in 2007. Although this might not look so impressing compared to other race boarders on the circuit, Kreiner managed to bring home the most of this great results within the last four years having made it into the knock out finals almost every competition the Graz resident was entering.
